Our goal is to support outstanding hosts to become even more successful in their business. This is what drives our passion. Over 2,300 hoteliers, restaurateurs and decision-makers from the hospitality industry rely on aleno's software solution.

In this role you’ll:

  • Improve the overall processes around the quality of the product.

  • Report and triage (e.g., prioritize) bugs.

  • Define test cases and plan automation.

  • Implement and maintain E2E tests (we use CodeceptJS with Playwright).

  • Perform manual regression testing.

What you’ll bring along:

  • Great English language skills.

  • Highly analytical thinking.

  • Self-starter personality.

  • Experience with general QA practices.

  • Experience with web application testing (including some HTML and CSS knowledge).

  • Experience with creating E2E tests in JavaScript.

  • Experience with creating test scenarios.

  • Experience with functional and regression tests.

  • (optional) Experience with performance testing.

  • (optional) Experience with React (to be self-sufficient in creating automated tests).

  • (optional) Experience with REST APIs.

  • (optional) Experience with GraphQL APIs (we use Apollo Federation heavily).

  • (optional) Experience with TypeScript.

What we offer at aleno:

  • Hardware. The home office budget covers a laptop and a headset (if needed).

  • Flexible working hours. Due to the customer support and the daily cycle of our core customer base, 10:00-15:00 CET is required. If you need to finish up earlier, it’s fine — that’s just the default. Other than that, there are no restrictions — just attend the meetings and stay in alignment with the team.

  • Paid time off. All bank holidays are off. On top of that, there are 26 days of paid time off and 5 days of sick leave.

  • Traveling. Company retreats twice a year are expected but not mandatory (once for the whole company and once for the product team). All conferences, local events, and online events (meetups, conferences, etc.) are highly encouraged but not mandatory. Traveling expenses can be covered in case of being a speaker and clearly mentioning aleno (for hiring, marketing, etc.)

About the Team

You are joining the Product Team, working on the entire application, including product owners, developers, other QAs, and DevOps. While everyone is aiming for the highest quality possible, errors happen — that’s where your eagle eye kicks in and saves the day.

The Wrocław team works in a hybrid setup, i.e., we meet in the office once a week (rented coworking space). On top of that, we try to have a small gathering every month in Wrocław. The schedule is adjusted to our needs.

About aleno

aleno was founded in Zurich in 2015 by a team that had experienced first-hand how difficult it can be to run ones own restaurant. aleno is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

Our great team also operates from many other locations such as Berlin, Munich and Wroclaw. We have a dynamic corporate culture with a start-up mentality. We have passionate restaurateurs, sales and tech experts working hand in hand in flat hierarchies. Together, we are shaping the path to a new era of hospitality.

Quotes

The exciting part of my job is that thousands of hospitality businesses and over 30 million guests benefit directly from it every year. That fills me with pride.
